One minor correction. The Genie will block the video signal if 720p or better is currently being output while a non-hd device is in use. Not the remote. Sorry about that.

You need the COMPOSITE 10 PIN DIN cable dongle available by calling DIRECTV. It connects to the "special" S-Video looking spot behind your Genie.
